Poor sleep, travel, business worries, and hormones have all taken a toll on my skin lately. My self-care regimen (which quickly falls to the wayside on busier days) is limited to the few waking moments before my lil’one gets up and the (somewhat) quiet moments before closing my eyes at night (and often times gets skipped all together).
I know that there is a lot more I could to do: change of diet, exercise more, set aside more “me” time etc. However, in the immediate, I was searching for a few tips for what to use on my face (specifically for recs on makeup removers and moisturizers with SPF) and asked you all for help via my IG. We got about 500 responses (!!) and suggestions (wow! Thank you!). We went through and tallied everything up and below we’ve listed out, in order of popularity, the top products that you all love and reccomend.
Coconut oil came in first place (and I love it too), but can someone please tell me if there is a version out there that stays creamy instead of the spectrums of runny and gritty hard? I’m looking forward to testing out the other top suggestions, outlined below. Thanks again for all who chimed in with suggestions!! If you have other favorites, please feel free to include them below!
- Nature’s Way Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 16 Ounce
- Rodan + Fields – Soothe Moisture Replenishing Cream
- BALANCED – The Water Cream
- La Roche-Posay Toleriane Fluide Emulsion
- Luminance Skincare – Deep Hydration Organic Moisturizer
- Evan Healy – Light Moisture Replenishing Fluid
- Drunk Elephant – Hydration + Moisture Duo
- Living Libations – All-Season Serum
- Melissa Day Cream – Organic and Natural Skin Care – Dr. Hauschka
Have a great weekend, friends!

I love the Dr. Hauschka! It’s the best. I am so happy to see you practicing self care! I remind my daughter (31) of this all the time. As mothers we almost always put little ones first! It’s so beautiful to care for self! Added benefit of setting a good example.

I’ve used De Hauschka and Evan Healy before (and like them), but have been using poppy and someday products lately and love it!

I am 66 years old and would not skip my morning honey regimen (for the last five years)which includes a gentle exfoliation with granulated honey—either liquid or creamed honey that has granulated on its own, or find an apiary that can provide raw, unfiltered honey which has tinier crystals (an amazing humectant and rids the skin of toxins)—followed by a rich lather of Skin Therapy New Zealand Manuka Honey soap, followed by a lather up of Dove Beauty Bar with Shea Butter. Final treat for my skin is a generous massage with a serum capsule by Elizabeth Arden followed by Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream (Charlotte, an iconic UK makeup artist to the stars and super-models invented a cruelty free line of gorgeous makeup and skincare products) which is also SPF. All this works like magic! My skin looks and feels amazing, especially for someone my age. Sorry for boasting:)) but do give it a try, you’ll love the difference in your skin.

Kopari Coconut Melt is the best coconut oil I’ve found. Smooth & creamy & melts right into my skin.

Buy fractionated coconut oil. This means that it will stay liquid at whatever temperature and keep the same consistency.

Ha Ha I tried to add comment but my response was denied!? I recommend water lots and lots of alkaline water as hydration is key to healthy EVERYTHING! Make sure you are drinking a PH 7 or 8.5 up to 9.5 to really hydrate. Water brings nutrients to all parts of our body especially our skin. We love coconut too we are slooshing it in the a.m. prior to cleaning teeth ayurvedic style. Love Love Love this new regime. The schedule for Boho Mama Queen and the Jungalowians is wall to wall crazy right now with books launches here there and everywhere. So hydration and sleep are key . La Roche-Posay is another favorite, particularly the 60SPF is my go too, but then I am a Limey Limey :) Newly transfixed by Aromatherapy Associates the aromas found in this range are superb, uplifting and earth friendly. Can also recommend Doterra too for mixing up your own spritzer of water & Frankincense, totally fab and uplifting. Although having watched you strut your stuff recently Mme Justina on instagram think we might not need Frank. Have a great weekend one & all

I think now it’s no secret to anyone that the condition of our skin depends not only on care products, but also, first of all, on our health. I suffered from dry skin for a long time until I discovered this supplement https://www.amazon.in/Prorganiq-Capsules-1000mg-Softgels-Supplement/dp/B0BM9TSZMS

Great list! I’m nearly 42 and have been using exclusively Evan Healy products for more than 15 years. I love her stuff. Anything else breaks me out, even now. I get compliments on my skin — no makeup, no treatments, just consistent oil and hydrosoul use over the years.
