For me, styling a memorable tabletop is a huge part of the fun of entertaining–seeing the look on people’s faces when they walk into a room and see a twinkling tablescape. I think that a beautiful tabletop at a party is like a good frame on a simple painting, it helps to make things feel thoughtful and pulled together…and a thoughtful table can make even simple meals festive and fun. I love to put a non-traditional spin on holiday decor too–use different colors, inject themes that are offbeat but equally festive and fun. This holiday, for me, this means focusing on the greenery, and then adding in bits of bling. One element I’m always trying to focus in on when I style a table is personalization. (If you’ve taken my tabletop styling class than you know this about me!) And today, I’m taking the concept of a personalized tabletop to a whole new level with Shutterfly!
I’ve taken some of my favorite botanical photographs and had them printed onto glass plates, acrylic trays, glass trays, coasters and even candles to create a totally unique, and totally jungalicious tabletop. The process was super fast and easy. What took the longest time was deciding which photos to use for this (I think I looked at about 2000 photos before deciding on these palms and succulents).
My favorite piece is the acrylic tray. I used a photograph of colorful succulents to personalize it, but I also think it would look amazing with an illustration or even a collage of some kind printed on it. It looks and feels super legit and it’s the kind of thing that I’d be thrilled to receive as a gift personalized with artwork by one of my talented friends.
Then to complete the tabletop, I added some other earthy elements, like wooden bowls and garnished with gold flatware to make the situation feel that much more special.
Holiday brunch has never been more personalized! My family will be eating off of my Instagrams :D. Happy tablescaping!
