I don’t think that I will ever tire of seeing pictures of The New Bohemians show up in #TheNewBohoBook Instagram feed. I love how so many folks around the world are declaring what kind of New Bohemian they are and sharing vignettes inspired by, and including the book! So what say you, after (hopefully) a month or so with the book what kind of Bohemian are you: Modern, earthy, folksy, nomadic, romantic or maximal?? Please continue to tag your pics with #TheNewBohoBook hashtag–and I will continue to share.
In other news, I realized that I never shared some of the really exciting stuff that happened around the book in the last few weeks. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I clicked over to discover that ArchitecturalDigest.com had done a feature on the book. And, if it could possibly get any fancier than that, our little book made The New York Times Bestseller list, which is just so bananas. I have to send out HUGE thank you’s to all of you who have rallied around the book, bought copies, shared with friends and on your blogs an Instas. I owe this feat to you.
Also, quick heads up, I’ll be having a book signing this coming Sunday at Dwell On Design. It we be hosted inside a space I’m designing with my sis for YP–and I promise you it will be a modern bohemian space unlike anything you (or Dwell) has ever seen! Hope you’re having a great day today, friends. xx ~J

I buy a lot of design books. It’s a weakness. And frankly, I usually end up with a bit of buyer’s remorse because so many design books recycle the same basic advice (“arrange things in 3’s” or “use bold colors in small spaces to make the room seem bigger” or “use all white in small spaces to make the room seem bigger” — yada yada).
But your books was different. So many interesting ideas. Even on pages where the style of the room was way too busy or too bohemian for me (I tend to prefer “organized clutter”), I would still myself thinking, “wow, look what they did with that chair” or “what a great way to use an old aquarium.”
In short, I didn’t feel ripped off. So thanks! Great book. And if you ever get a chance to recommend 10 great design books on your blog, I’d love to see your list.
