When I received an invitation from Calypso St. Barth to come to NYC, restyle their entire Calypso Maison store in SoHo and have my book release party there I thought about it for about 15 seconds before being like, uhhh..hells to the yes. So after flying in on a red eye this week, Dabito, Danae and I got full reign over the entire store and stock room and turned this Maison into a Romantic Bohemian Jungalow! The store looked good already, but as you can see from the above before pic, there are a ton of neutrals. I wanted to inject a little more color, personality, and (duh!) plants–to give it the boho vibe I love…and here’s how it turned out…
The first change we made was to swap out the rug. With a white couch, I wanted to use a rug with more punched up color and pattern to create a vibrant foundation.
Next, we covered the sofa in the wedding blanket to add some fun texture. I’ve been really into the way blush and botanicals vibe lately so we used a blushy pillow palette and included a furry pillow for added textural mix.
Next we swapped out the coffee table. What’s missing from botanicals and blush? Yup. Bling. So we brought in these gold tables.
After that, it was all about accessorizing. I’m obsessed with the framed textile archive of French engraver, painter, and textile artist Paule Marrot. Replacing the mirror with this piece was a game changer and tied all the colors in the space together.
And then came the plants. Boom. Boom. Boom. We rented them for the occasion but were recently told that everyone at Calypso loves them so much that they are going to STAY! Which really warms my heart. It’s a testament to just how much the plants breath life and positivity into a room.
Stay tuned next week for more before and after images from the Calypso Maison store redo and the pics of our big NYC new boho bash! Have a great weekend friends.

I love it so much. It’s amazing the difference some plants can make, I keep putting leaves everywhere while I am decorating at home at the moment. This also fills me with confidence that my very first design commission is going to look amazing as I’ve used lots of gold colours, a bit of blush and plants. Thanks!

Great job! Kinda drab in. The before pic. Boho glam in makeover! I do not like the color pink, but in this case, it made the room. You rock!
