A few weeks ago I got a chance to go to Austin and spend the day with Jessica Honegger and her company, Noonday Collection.
Noonday Collection is a jewelry company with a mission. The idea for Noonday came-to-be when Jessica hosted a little jewelry trunk show in her living room to help raise money to adopt her son from Rwanda. That was 2011. Now, Noonday has grown into a thriving business with makers and sellers all over the world. Noonday Collection on a mission to “restore dignity to abandoned women in Ethiopia, empower communities in Ecuador, and create business opportunities for Ugandans…” I love that their jewelry is not just good looking, but also good feeling.
Everyone that I met at the Noonday offices are really passionate, not just about beautiful jewelry, but also about looking at these accessories from a 360 degree perspective. Their ambassador selling model allows women to create a marketplace in their communities that in turn helps women across the world develop and sustain their businesses.
My job at Noonday collection was a very difficult one. I had to play with flowers and jewelry all day long. Terrible. I know.
Here are some of my favorite pieces from the collection:
